Father God, your Holy Spirit testifies within me. How can anyone say that I don’t hear your voice, feel your prompting and see you at work? You speak to my heart through the Scriptures. You prompt me to action as you work in my conscience. Your mighty works are all about me. Lord, you, Luke and Paul spoke of how that worked. I am not your apostle, Lord. I am your follower and servant. I am of your flock, and your sheep hear your voice. Keep me attuned to your whispers in the reading of your Word, in the swaying of the trees, in the breath you breathe over me and in the song you sing over me. Show me how to respond to your calling as you lead me to greener pastures. Forgive the times I allow earthly chatter to disrupt our communication channel. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, who left so that the Holy Spirit could come, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say,for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” (Luke 12:11-12 ESV) Jesus

“And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me.” (Acts 20:22-23 ESV) Luke

“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” (Romans 8:16) Paul

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27 ESV) Jesus
