It’s all lies, Father! “You aren’t smart enough, tall enough, thin enough, wealthy enough, fast enough, pretty enough, holy enough and worthy enough” are all lies. Every self-help, self-worth, self-image boosting theory is a lie. Why? Because they base human value on ‘self.’ That is why ‘self’ is the prefix to their label. Oh, Lord, I lost myself in those lies for years. Thank you for bringing me out of the pit of lies. Thank you for teaching me that you made me in your sparkling image. Thank you that my value comes from the price Jesus paid on the cross. Thank you that it never changes. You carved it into the stone that rolled away from the empty tomb. Forgive the times I relapse into old thinking. Help me to live victoriously in Christ. Help me to teach others what I learned from you. Father, I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, who exchanged the value of His life for mine, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV)
