Dear Jesus, when you fulfilled the old covenant with your personal sacrifice, you ushered in the new covenant. Our bodies became the temple, and our hearts the holy of holies, where we meet with you at will. We no longer wait for Atonement Day sacrifices. We no longer strive for the perfect work to save us, for you died once for all, rose and sit at the Father’s right hand to intercede for us. We are not alone. Your Holy Spirit lives within us. Rise up, Holy Spirit! You are welcome here. Flood our souls. Touch us with your glorious presence. Take our doubt. Remove our loneliness and replace it with your eternal hope. I ask in your name above names, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” (Hebrews 9:26b ESV)
