Walls, we’re all about walls, Father. Walls around our homes. Walls around our communities. Walls around our hearts. Come and break them down like you crumbled the walls around Jericho. We tramp around the inside trying to keep out anything that makes us uncomfortable, while you walk around the outside, knocking at our doors, waiting patiently for us to open up and let your Holy Spirit in. We live in silent misery, lest anyone know our true selves. You sing your love song over us, and we block out its haunting melody with noise and distractions of the day. Open the flood gates, Lord. Let us hear the song you sing over us like rushing waters. Wash away the walls and let your Spirit come in. Let us shout from our rooftops, “Holy Spirit, you are welcome here!” Make your home in the new hearts you create in us. You are making all things new. There is nothing too difficult for you. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen

“And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east. And the sound of his coming was like the sound of many waters, and the earth shone with his glory.” (Ezekiel 43:2 ESV)
