Father God, sometimes the lyrics of a favorite hymn make up my prayers. You are the lover of my soul, the keeper of my sanity, and the salvation of my life. “As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee. You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship thee. You alone are my strength, my shield. To you lone may my spirit yield.” You are my refuge, Father, my strong tower in time of need. I praise you in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.” (Psalm 42:1b ESV)
