Holy God, I’ve been thinking about the last days, wondering just how close we are to the return of Jesus. We cannot know the day or hour, but we have been in the last days since the Resurrection. Every day brings us one day closer to his return. I see the earth groaning. I see Biblical signs that prompt me to be watchful, to be ready. Whether by rapture or by death, as the old hymn says, “I’ll fly away, O Glory. I’ll fly away.” Thank you for your blessed hope, Father, in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15: 51-52 ESV) “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22: 20b ESV)
