God of Creation, your little Carolina wren came back to pick up stray morsels from my deck and sing his morning song. How sweet his melody. How welcome is his return every day. I come to your mercy seat to pray for those who don’t know Jesus. May they turn to him in the height of success and in the turmoil of the pit. May those who know Jesus, but stray, return to his loving acceptance. May we repent of our not remembering your covenant and return to our forgotten first love in Christ. May we know him more intimately. May we love him more intentionally. May we wait patiently for his return to reign on earth, for he alone is worthy to take the scroll. I pray in the name above all names, Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
