Father, Almighty God, you are above all. The world is a mess! Satan prowls and seeks how to kill, steal and destroy. I watch with horror and disgust as it takes place before my eyes. My heart hurts, my soul is vexed. We rebel. You are angry with us. You make me see and recognize hard things. The world staggers at your hand. I turn to your Holy Word, Father. I read of hope, assurance, comfort and victory. Let me not be satisfied with minimal exposure to your Truth. I thirst. I hunger for all you would say to me. Lead me out of this present darkness and into your marvelous light. I cry out. I beseech you with all my heart, in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses;
you have been angry; oh, restore us.
You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open;
repair its breaches, for it totters.
You have made your people see hard things;
you have given us wine to drink that made us stagger.
You have set up a banner for those who fear you,
that they may flee to it from the bow. Selah
That your beloved ones may be delivered,
give salvation by your right hand and answer us!” (Psalm 60: 4 ESV)
