Almighty God, do you hide yourself in times of trouble? Do you stand far away and watch the wicked pursue the poor? He seizes the poor when he draws them into his net. The mouth of the wicked is filled with deceit, mischief and iniquity. He sits in ambush in the villages and murders the innocent. He renounces your name. Will you not call him to account? You see the plight of the poor and the vexation of the victim. Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer, stamp out his ways until they are no more. You hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their hearts and do justice to the oppressed and fatherless. I seek your path in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.” (Psalm 10:17-18 ESV)
