Truth cannot be denied its rightful place in the sun. It cannot be stifled as has been proven in several such cases of major celebrity pastors and priests who tried to go down the path of silencing the story. A victim who is pushed down because of his or her age eventually becomes old enough to file their own complaint against the abuser.
“The events of February 2014 lit the fuse that blew things wide open among the church body at First Christian of Florissant, but the situation smoldered for a little over a year. Four of the main players waited and prayed during that time frame that the church leadership would do the right thing for the victims, the church members, and the community. Unfortunately, FCCF leadership failed in all three areas. In reality, it was also a blow to the elders and pastors, but their choices made the problem bigger, and the beach ball they tried to keep underwater burst through the surface tension.” (Taylor, Joy S., A View from the Pews — The Inside Story of a Broken Church, 2022, Lily of the Valley Publishing, Santa Claus IN, p. 57.)
