Today is a beautiful day, because even though Solomon and Israel broke God’s covenant and turned to idolatry that forced God to act against them, God kept his promise to David and Rehoboam became king over Judah when Israel split into two kingdoms. “There was none that followed the house of David but the tribe of Judah only.” (1 Kings 12:20b ESV)
