To continue with the update on the SLCC character in the saga of First Christian Church in Florissant, the fine and the eventual demise of St. Louis Christian College came unexpectedly. It saddens me not to see the iconic billboard announcing its location. I drove past that sign along I270 for about thirty years. I’ve visited friends there, judged written essays for scholarships, and attended conferences there. I witnessed SLCC graduations. I watched a beloved professor treated unconscionably by an organization to which he’d devoted sixteen years. Bad decisions by leaders bring consequences.
From the book:
“Six years have passed since the height of the storm at FCCF. Here are significant events that have taken place since.
• Discussions of SLCC’s merger with Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri, took place at the October 2021 meetings. As stated in the description of proposed changes, the Solomon Foundation came back into play in this end point of the St. Louis Christian College era: ‘Any agreed plan will then be implemented during the following months with the support of The Solomon Foundation and other regional partners.’”
