Heavenly Father, when the rains come down and the rivers overflow, you promise to stand with us in the current. You promise to be with us in the torrent. You promise never to leave us in the swirling waters. You are our strong tower. Your love is steadfast. Our surroundings melt at the sound of your voice, but you hold us in your victorious right hand. Show us how to come together as brothers and sisters to help each other in disaster, console each other in loss, support each other in need and pray for each other through the chaos. Forgive our wavering hearts. Fill them with solid boldness. I ask in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

 “But now thus says the Lord,

he who created you, O Jacob,

he who formed you, O Israel:

Fear not, for I have redeemed you;

I have called you by name, you are mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;

when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,

and the flame shall not consume you.

For I am the Lord your God,

the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.’” (Isaiah 43:1-3ESV)
