Heavenly Father, you are the God of faithfulness and commitment. You are the God who promises never to leave us, nor forsake us. Jesus is the bridegroom and we, the church, the bride of Christ. You are true to your new covenant with that bride still today, after two millennia. I want to celebrate the earthly marriages remaining intact anniversary after anniversary as an example of your covenant with the church. Rain special blessings on them today, Lord. Shower them with your loving kindness. Keep them in your care, and sustain them. Let your love shine through them in every way they touch others. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus the Christ, the Bridegroom, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“And the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ And he said to me, ‘These are the true words of God.'” (Revelation 19:9 ESV)
