Lord Jesus, I await your coming with longing and not fear. My life with you is relationship, not religion. You are a tangible presence in my deepest moments of prayer. You are my encouragement and my strength. You are my righteousness and my personal value. You never leave me; and you remain faithful even when I fail you. You are my light in darkness and my hope for eternity. I come humbly, with reverence for who you are. I seek you when I lie down and when I rise. You are the rock that is higher than I. I lift my gratitude in your name and authority, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.” (1 John 2:28 ESV)
