Lord, I’m thinking on the versatility of a song. I can sing with the birds to the morning light. I can sing from my pillow in the dead of night. I can sing whether the sky is blue or gray. I can sing when I’m still. I can sing on the move. I can sing in the rain or in the full sun at noon. I can shout my song to the highest of heights. I can hum to you when I can’t find the words. Thank you for the song in my heart today, Lord. I sing my prayer in your name and authority, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above fall gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.” (Psalm 96: 1-6 ESV)
