Lord, the stars twinkle in the darkness of a cloudless sky, and I wonder just how far the pinpoints of light making their way into my eyes traveled. I see only a tiny perspective of what they truly are. In the same vein, I can know only a piece of who You are. One day, however, when we meet face-to-face John says I will be like You, because I will see You as You are. Your glory will be far greater than the light exploding from the stars You created. It’s amazing and mind-bending. I struggle to wrap my thoughts around the scene, not only for the vastness of it, but also for the personal impact of it. You alone are worthy of honor and exaltation. I bring my praise to your throne in your name and authority, Jesus, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they were created. And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.” (Psalm 148: 3-6 ESV)
