Father, thank You for using James to highlight the differences between wisdom from You opposed to the lack of wisdom that comes from jealousy and selfishness. I have to remind myself with this verse, because I can fall into the trap of listening to other people or relying on circumstance instead of looking above for what You desire. Forgive me when I fail You. Keep me within the good and perfect circle of your will, Father, in the name and authority of Jesus. Amen.

“For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” (James 3: 16-18 ESV)
