Father, this is a double-edged passage. You made your point that either your people would enjoy the good of the land or be defeated by the sword. The pivot point hinged on willingness and obedience. Give me a heart of willingness and obedience, Father.
Increase my sensitivity to hear your Holy Spirit speak and the wisdom to discern His voice. Without faith, where would I be? Because of my faith, I seek to do what is right in your eyes. Thank You for calling me by my name to come out of the darkness of rebellion in into the marvelous light of salvation. I pray in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 1: 18-20 ESV)
