Father, your steadfast love and faithful compassion upon your people encourages me as I see You promise your covenant of peace will not be removed. Isaiah prophesied of the Messiah. With this promise, You infer that floodwaters will not be the agent that scrubs away sin, but the blood of Jesus will be in its stead. You voice how much You love your people, how much compassion You harbor for them. You then proved your love and compassion by Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection that takes away the sins of mankind and washes clean those who believe. For me, Resurrection Day every year is a reminder of trip up Golgotha to see that the cross is bare, and a walk through the Garden Tomb to see the stone rolled away that reveals the emptiness within the tomb. Praise You, God Most High. Jesus sits at your right hand. Praise You, Lord Jesus. Praise You, Holy Spirit. I bow humbly in the name and authority of Jesus, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.
“‘In overflowing anger for a moment I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,’ says the Lord, your Redeemer. ‘This is like the days of Noah to me: as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, and will not rebuke you. For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54: 8-10 ESV)
