Father in heaven, you know me better than anyone. You orchestrate the rhythms of my days. I move to the beat of your heart. I travel to the beat of a different drum, the cadence of the redeemed. My heart keeps time in staying in your will. I don’t want to miss anything you have for me, Father. I don’t want to skip a beat. It’s a walk set aside to do your work, yet you meld it carefully into the lives of those I meet, work with, live near and serve. Let me hear the intricacies of your ways that I may sing your song to the world, that I may share your accounts faithfully. Thank you for never changing the score. Forgive me if I don’t get the asynchronous measures quite right. I desire to follow the Maestro and walk in his ways all my life. I praise you in the name above all names, Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.” (Psalm 40:3 ESV)
