Elohim, mighty Creator, you spoke light into being and separated it from the dark. There is none like you who walks in glory and knows what goes on in the darkness. I witness the contrast more day-by-day. Though darkness looms large and evil exerts it power, you are greater, for your light shines in the darkness, and is not overcome by it. Indeed, you expose what is done and said in the darkness. Your righteousness prevails. You are the light of the world, and evil bows to your sovereignty. Open your holy courts to hear my plea for your intervention, Father. Take this present evil in hand. Heal our nation. Protect our children. Save the unbelievers. Raise up your church to glorify your name. Forgive our short falls, and steady us to stand by your might and power and not our own. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
