Good morning, Lord. You are the reason the day is good. You put purpose in the hours. You are the refuge from the enemy who prowls to see what he can devour. Your Word is profound, refined Truth. It remains consistent and constant. What was applicable in David’s era applies today, for we live in … Read more
Today is a beautiful day, because King David wrote words applicable to today “‘Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,’ says the Lord; ‘I will place him in the safety for which he longs.’ The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on … Read more
Lord, this powerful prayer that Hezekiah lifted in his illness as he was slated to die moves me to send an entreaty on my behalf. I pray, not because I am ill or distressed in any way. Today is a beautiful day, because God answered Hezekiah’s prayer, “Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to … Read more
Father, the way you weave your Word so that the Old Testament verses point toward the New Testament amazes me. They sought the help of the prophet Elisha, who responded to their plea because he honored King Jehoshaphat. They went to God instead of avoiding … Read more
Today is a beautiful day, because King Jehoshaphat turned to God in his crisis instead of avoiding God in the drought, “And he [Elisha] said, ‘Thus says the LORD, “I will make this dry streambed full of pools.” For thus says the LORD, “You shall not see wind or rain, but that streambed shall be … Read more
Father in Heaven, thank You for waking me this morning. Thank You for supplying my needs physically, emotionally and spiritually. Thank You for your Holy Spirit who guides my steps. As You used the prophets to warn your stiff-necked people of upcoming wrath because of their disobedience, so, your Holy Spirit prompts me toward repentance … Read more
Today is a beautiful day, because God warned of His upcoming judgement, “Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon. Nothing shall be left, says the LORD.” (2 Kings 20:17 ESV) Thus says the LORD … Read more
